Using a MacBook Air with KymaConnect

Hi,

I am leaving in two days for a performance in Taipei and my MacBook Pro is totally DOA. A friend has graciously offered to loan me a MacBook Air but that presents a slight problem. I've been using KymaControl via KymaConnect and the Air only has one jack so there's no way to hook up both Ethernet and Firewire (or is there?)

From the website it appears like the solution is a wireless router connected directly to the Pacarana, but the Asus unit described is no longer made.  Will any wireless router work? Is there a recommendation for one that is easier to aquire and set up? Or is there another solution I'm overlooking?

FWIW I'm also looking for a MacBook Pro I can borrow as another solution.

Thanks for any advice or recommendations.

Regards,

Joe

The most recent version of the MacBook Air has both USB-3 and Thunderbolt 2, so you could use a USB-3 Ethernet Adapter and a Thunderbolt 2 FireWire Adapter. (see https://www.apple.com/macbook-air/features/)

If it is not that one, we have had success using Apple Airport Extreme as a wireless router plugged directly into the Pacarana. Other wireless routers are likely to work, but may need some configuration first.

I'll check to see if it has USB-3 when I pick it up tomorrow!  If not I'll give the Airport Extreme a shot. Thanks!
