Using an Apogee Duet as the Kyma audio interface, on macOS Sierra

Knowing that Apogee has officially stopped supporting the first Duet model for any macOS higher than El Capitan, is  it still OK to use this older Duet for Kyma's audio interface, with the Kyma software running on macOS Sierra?

If so, which is the preferred configuration: hooking up the Duet directly to the Pacarana, or daisy-chained into my MacBookPro's Firewire signal?

If you need to use the corresponding Apogee software with your Duet, to supply phantom power for example, you will probably run into compatibility issues. If you don't need to use the Apogee software you should be just fine and the preferred configuration would be to hook up the Duet directly to your Pacarana.

I had a similar issue with the Ensemble (firewire version) and my macOS. I ended up having to find an OS that could support the Apogee software and run Kyma.

Hope this helps!
