Kyma Control question

I have a pacarama and would like to use Kyma Control without KymaConnect.  If I understand the instructions correctly, I need to have an ethernet cable going from my pacarama into the wireless router that my ipad is connected to.

I currently am connecting my mac pro computer to the pacarama, and I see that there are two ethernet ports on the back of the pacarama.  Could I connect one port to my computer and the other port to the router?  Or is the 2nd ethernet port on the pacarama only there to chain to another pacarama, meaning I would need to connect to the pacarama via firewire and use the main ethernet connection to go to the router?  I guess a better way to ask the question can I connect my computer to the pacarama via ethernet and still use Kyma Control without KymaConnect?

And if there are any other tips to get Kyma Control to work without KymaConnect I'd appreciate knowing them.  I'm able to use the send to IPad function in the latest version of Kyma, which is great, but that doesn't let me control anything, just lets me view kyma on my ipad.

For the Paca(rana), you would connect Expansion Port B to your computer by Ethernet.

Then connect your wireless router via Ethernet to the Ethernet port on the back of the Paca(rana).
