Lowest latency interface with Adat I/O for a Pacarana?

I am in for a new audio interface, I would like to have a 8 lane highway to my main interface (fireface 802) and need one that allows kyma 7 to use the lowerst buffers possible, as I would like to control kyma live with audiostreams as control sources in a responsive way, uh, live, I said that :)

so if anyone would chime in I'd be delighted!

btw: if anyone knows, what is the lowers response time one can get from a pacarana anyways? (digital roundtrip)

I just tried using the DSP Status window Configure menu to set the I/O Delay to 4.5 ms and it works fine with my MOTU Traveller (which has two ADAT interfaces).  If you can find a TC Impact Twin, the I/O delay should be about the same.

Whichever converter you choose, though, it will take additional time for it to encode and decode to ADAT.  For AES/EBU (for example), most converters require an additional millisecond (beyond what you have it set for in Kyma) for the encoding/decoding.

I'm no expert in things regarding computer science, but I've had the impression that the processing times are a lot less? Are you certain you aren't confusing ms with samples?

I was under the impression that doing Analog to Digital conversion would generally take something like 50 samples (1,1ms with 44,1KHz?) regardless of the samplerate and encoding to ADAT, SPDIFF or AES/EBU while staying in the digital realm would be a lot less?
