How many cross filters can you fit on a paca(rana)?

This sounds like an angels on a pin head question...

Inspired by the drones of KISS2016 I've been trying out the CrossFilter _Long.

It seems I can only fit one cross filter within the DSP of a paca. One cross filter takes up about 75% of the DSP of one processor. Adding a second cross filter seems to take up more than 100% of the second processor. If I put a Level sound in the path of a cross filter then the sound breaks up completely.

I found it interesting that the second cross filter took up more DSP than the first. How many cross filters can you fit in a pacarana? 4?

The computation and memory required by CrossFilter depend on the ResponseDuration, the AllowLongerCapture checkbox, and whether it is Stereo or not (and of course, the sample rate you have selected). To get more of them in parallel, try reducing the ResponseDuration value and check the AllowLongerCapture box.  For example, you can get six of them on a Pacarana when you have ResponseDuration set to 1 s.

The resources used by combinations of CrossFilters (or combinations of any Sounds for that matter) is somewhat nonlinear.

Also ... you could probably get one CrossFilter with a long capture of ~ 7-8 sec on a pacarana ... depending on the two input sources.
