JSON is gone!!! Gah!!!

Question

I just upgraded to the August 9 release + firmware and now /osc/widget N returns BLOBs instead of JSON.  This breaks all my code.

Looks like you may have been bitten by your Preferences getting overwritten.  To fix:

Edit > Preferences

Click Performance

Optimize Kyma Control Communication should be UN-checked

I didn't even recall that was a preference. But yes, that was the issue.  My heart is beating normally again.

(Also happy to see that CoD is now optional, as it was confusing other users who don't code.)
