Beat Repeat Function?

I'm looking toward the quantized shortening of beat length on the playback of a sample.  One knob shortens/lengthens the quantized beat of loop length. I'm having a hard time of lining up the gate trigger, start time and loop time appropriately.  Not sure if anyone has tackled this problem before.

not sure if I follow... if you set your knob to 1/2 each beat should be triggered twice in the duration of 1 beat?
Hi Jon, are you relying on looping in the Sample (is the loop box checked)?  Or are you using Start and End and re-gating the Sample once per loop?  Could you describe or upload what you have done so far? Thanks!

I think I have a working prototype. Instead of working from the angle of loop size/length, I am instead quantizing the Trigger. By quantizing the playback trigger, I achieve the desired sound and can even run on a DiskPlayer.

I still have a small error related when chopping up the quarter note (<quarter) in that a return to >quarter may latch onto an off beat. Syncopation is not always desired. Although, related to what this post was asking for, I think I have my answer.

This over a year later, but my old answer forgets to cut the input to the delay line. This version works better to what my question was about. Including here to tie up loose ends (footnotes, etc.)  http://kyma.symbolicsound.com/library/beat-repeat/
