Kyma windows blank at start up

I arrived today and everything appears to be hooked up the same way as when I left it.

Starting Kyma, the splash screen appears, and then dialog windows open for Prototypes, Sound Browser, DSP Status, and my last .kym file, but they are all blank.  The system sits and spins a kalidoscopic busy symbol forever. All other applications appear to be working.

Cold boot and unplugging / replugging in devices appears to have no effect.

Are there process lock files (or other files) that should normally go away upon exiting Kyma?

It's possible that it was trying to connect to the Internet and there was a transient problem with one of our servers.  If it happens again, could you please email a screenshot?  Thanks!
I have just started experiencing the same thing.

The system worked perfectly for a few days on OSX 10.9.5, during which time I was still adjusting other aspects of the system, but installed no new software.

Then the blank windows started happening. Numerous restarts and an update to OSX 10.12 have made no difference so far.

I am running the latest version of Kyma 7 on a Paca.

I just spotted the reply above. I have the system connected to the internet, and the software asked to join the server, which I allowed, but unfortunately the screen remained the same. I shall send a screenshot shortly....

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

The blank window syndrome can usually be remedied by resetting the Preferences.  Here's how to do it:

  1. Toggle caps lock key
  2. Launch Kyma
  3. Click "See other Options"
  4. See other options (a second time)
  5. Select Reset Preferences
