Rearranging presets

Is there any way to re- arrange the order of saved presets ?

I've been using the into: function to change the mapping, but it can be a bit of chore when one has alot of presets plus the vcs labelling doesn't follow..

cheers

I'm afraid its not so straighforward in Kyma to re-order or re-arrange Presets. We are hoping SSC will improve this user experience soon, as anyone who works a lot designing sounds soon creates hundreds. The list does need to be managed/sequenced, especially if you want to perform with them.

For now, the best way I use is numbering and trailing character.

So for example, "01 intro"

then you make a tweak which feels like it should be next in the list

"01 intro+"

then

"01 intro++" and so on.

if you want to insert something between "01 intro+" and "01 intro++" you can use a lower ASCII character, something like "01 intro +*"

Hi Cristian, thanks for sharing this useful tip. I was about to ask the same question before I found this. Do you know if there has been any update yet to preset management since you answered this question?  If not or if I don't hear back from this then I'll use the method you described above, it's easy enough and it actually might save some time since deciding on descriptive names sometimes takes a minute. Thanks!
