Kyma Control not working through KymaConnect

Question

My Kyma Control App on my iPad has suddenly stopped connecting with my Kyma.

My Kyma is connected via KymaConnect and receiving OSC and MIDI data from my laptop.

I am using a computer-computer network created on the compuer.

Is anyone else having this issue recently?

Hi Anne, When you open the MIDI/OSC log in Kyma (from the DSP status window, Configure drop-down), do you see any events in the log? Have there been any changes to your system since the last time it was working (any software updates, OS updates, iOS updates, is the setup in a different room, new Ethernet cables)?

Dear SSC and colleagues, I installed the new Kyma Software and Firmware 7.20f9. I also reinstalled the KymaControl App on my iPad and tried another iPad.

I've attached MIDI log which shows that I can send MIDI via Max to the Kyma. I still can't get KymaControl to connect to the Kyma.

I'm thinking that I need to reinstall KymaConnect. Something that happened a couple of night ago was that when I was breaking down my setup the electricity was turned off before the Kyma had completely shut down. I was using Terminal to connect to another set of iPads (in Utter) and KymaConnect to control the Kyma System using MIDI messages from Max. Could this have corrupted KymaConnect?

More information: I looked at the IP addresses of the Kyma and the iPad. The iPad was 169.254.10.172 with a subnet mask 255.255.0.0. The Paca was 169.254.200.231 with a subnet Mask 255.255.0.0. This all seems in order to me.

I just received a detailed email from Douglas Kraul regarding my issue. Somehow the PacaProxy in KymaConnect got turned off and I didn't see it since KymaConnect has been working flawlessly for years.
Problem solved. Now I can play the Christmas Concert with subtle and confident control.

Glad to hear you got it working in time for your concert! To summarize (for anyone encountering a similar issue), turning on PacaProxy in KymaConnect resolved the problem.
