Connecting an iPad with Kyma Control when wifi is not available?

I have an ipad connected to my mac's ethernet port via the lightning bolt to USB adapter and a USB to ethernet adapter.
I have Kyma Connect running.
and I have the pacarana connected via ehternet to the mac.
I cannot seem to get the pacarana to show up on the Kyma Control configure page. Is this even possible? and if so what am I missing to make this work.
any suggestions welcome.
Thanks
David

It would appear that my my iPads are too old to work with ethernet adapter. The device is not compatible. Thanks Apple!

Hi David,
Have you tried connecting the iPad (via Lightning-USB-Ethernet) to the Ethernet port on the Pacarana? (We've used it in this configuration for several concerts).
Please let us know how it goes.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have tried to connect the iPad via lighting to USB to ethernet to the ethernet port on the pacarana, but still the pacarana does not show up on configure page and I am unable to make a connection. I have tried this on two different iPads (iPad 2 and iPad mini). same result.
obviously it must be possible so I wonder what could be different with our set up.
Try turning off Wi-fi on your iPad to see whether that makes a difference.
