how can I parse MIDI in data that is not note event data?

Simplest example would be in the case where Kyma is a MIDI clock slave, and should just start clocks when it receives 16rFA or stop when it receives 16rFC

I do realise the workaround would be to send a note on or a controller value and detect for that, but I would prefer it to be more simple...

What is generating/sending the 16rFA or 16rFC values? The MIDI clock?
Whenever a MIDI Clock is started from external software or hardware that sends clock start / clock stop message
