Kyma isn't seeing SPDIF inputs, but SPDIF out from Kyma is working fine

I'm using a Pacarana with Kyma 7 and a Behringer FCA610. I've got the FCA610 connected to my Apogee audio interface with SPDIF in and out cables. The output is working fine so I can hear the Kyma and see it on the Apogees I/O meters, but sound from the Apogee into the Kyma's SPDIF input isn't showing up at all. It's clearly routed correctly in the Apogee because I can see it on the Apogee meters, but it dosn't move Kyma's I/O level meters at all and there's no sound.

I've tried with the FCA1610 as both clock master and slave to the Apogee, same result. It locks fine but still no input sound. I'm assuming it's not a clocking issue because as I said the output is fine.

Does anyone have any ideas what would be causing this or how to fix it?

Hi David,

Please select Route Inputs from the Configure drop down menu of the DSP Status window and make sure that the SPDIF input is routed to the desired Kyma input channels. For example, the screenshot below shows routing an audio interface's SPDIF input to Kyma input channels 3 and 4.

I did that, and it didn't work. I have the SPDIF L and R set to channels 1 and 2.
After communicating with David via email, it turns out the FCA610 was set for Optical I/O (TOSLINK) and so was ignoring the SPDIF input.
Correct. I'll add that it was particularly odd because the coax SPDIF still worked even though it was set to optical, but the input didn't.
