Pen control of 4- 8- channel pan?

Is there a simple, strainght-forward way for the Pen X-Y coordinates (either iPad or Wacom tablet) to control 4- and 8-channel panning of a live Sound? It must be simple, and I've tried many things, but I'm missing something. I feel like Pooh: a Bear of very little brain.....

Thanks for the suggestions. I was working with both SphericalPanner QUAD and MuiltichannelPan XY coordinates, but they didn't work as expected. I will try again (perhaps I erred with the !PenX format....).

In the Surround & Multichannel prototypes you will find several options.

With Delays, XY coordinates etc.

As Roland suggested, the Prototypes might be a good place to start your search for a Sound you could modify for Pen/Tablet control. For example, if you start with the SphericalPanner QUAD prototype, in its X, Y, Z parameter fields, you could replace !Position.x with !PenX, !Position.y with !PenY, etc.

If you start with the Prototype MultichannelPan XY coordinates, in the CapytalkToSound modules, you could replace !Position.x with !PenX and !Position.y with !PenY. Then you could use the CtrlByHand button to switch between an automatic pan and the X,Y position from the tablet.

I worked with both suggested Sounds, and got some reasonable results. So, thanks for this. I am getting even better results with the Sound Quad Pan by Pen (Sound Browser / Controls & data-driven instruments / Pen Examples). Pen X,Y controls panning Angle, plus there is control for Radius, which is great! I also did not have to disable any variables, which I needed to do with the other two Sounds. I think I am on the right track now. Thanks again for the good suggestions.  --  Brian B.
