Hi SSC,

I have a new MacBook Pro (after 10 years) and I am now I proud owner of a bag of adapters (errrr). Does anyone have an advice on what is the best USB-C to Firewire 800 adapter so I can connect my Paca?

Best,

I used the usb c to thunderbolt adapter, and then a thunderbolt to FireWire 800 adapter. It's a bit inelegant but it works. I now have the owc thunderbolt 3 dock. The previous model has FireWire 800 and it works without a problem. But you have to find the old model either second hand, or stores with old sick. You can probably find one of the old ones on eBay

Hi Luis,

I'm chaining an startech USB-C/TB3 to TB2 adapter + Apple TB2 to Firewire 800 adapter to connect my Intel NUC to my Paca and this configuration works very well.

I understand you have a Mac but I believe my Windows config should also work for the mac.

So my suggestion is to try both USB-C/TB3 to TB2 + TB2 to Firewire 800 APPLE adapers first.

And if that doesn't work, then return the Apple USB-C/TB3 to TB2 adapter and swap it for the Startech instead.

Hi Eli & Anders,

Many thanks for your help. Just ordered a TB 3 to TB 2, and a T2 to FW800. It's a kind of a dongle train.
