Regarding Dante AVIO Connectivity

Hi all,

I'm teaching Kyma to my group of often-pragmatic students, and, after coming across this article, I'm wondering if the Dante AVIO might be a good gateway for them to integrate Kyma into their existing workflow.

My question is essentially this:

Am I correct that, with this set up--Pacarana with the AVIO 2-in/2-out, computer with Dante Via software--I could set up a easy digital send and recieve between the computer and Pacarana?

For example, if these students have a Pro Tools session, could they use the Dante network to send their guitar track digitally to Kyma, then digitally recieve the output of Kyma back in their DAW for recording (understanding that there would be some latency)?

Thanks!

Hey all,

It's over a year later, I know but here's a video I put together on how I set this all up - https://youtu.be/WfHbPGDHFU8

Hopefully it's of use to some!

What you describe sounds like it should work (we haven't tried that exact scenario so cannot confirm, but it sounds like it ought to work).

Thank you. It sounds promising, and low-cost enough to be a worthwhile experiment. I'm going to move forward with this, and I'll post back here with the results in case others are interested.
