"Audio rate" synthesis

cheers!

I am experimenting with using drum loop spectrums that feed oscillatorBanks and then driving Gate or Rate of playback of spectrum samples way high up into audio range. It creates very nice freakishly organic movement in each "oscillator" by manipulating playback rate and TimeIndex.

Do you have any advice how to do this properly, at the moment I just crank the Trigger of the function generator (going into spectrum module) with a 1 bpm : !BPM expression, but there seems to be a limit after the VCS slider goes over 5100 or so, the loop starts playing at normal tempo again.

In general pushing stuff into audio range is my big interest point, so any kind of general purpose directions are greatly appreciated, even if its for LFOs or looping envelopes...

kind regards

You could look into PulseTrain as a source for audio rate triggers. The spectrum source playback rate is controlled by a Sound input (an audio rate input) so you could also look at the Sounds called TimeIndex and TimeIndexForFileName as ways to continuously vary the rate at the audio rate.

Excellent suggestions, thank you so much for this. Already have great early results with TimeIndex!
