Routing of 2nd interface (Scarlett 2i2): How do I test for audio actually coming back into my computer?

I am trying to uyse Kyma for live collaborative network remote streaming - all the rage. I use MOTU UltrLite for my #1 interface (I/O for Pacarana). I just bought my #2 interface (Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, as suggested in a recent Eighth Nerve article).

How do I verify that the Kyma sound is actually coming back into my computer via Scarlett USB connection)? I see/hear Kyma sound when monitoring the Scarlett directly, but am unable to verify that sound is actually back in my computer. Suggestions?

If you have Audacity (or a DAW) installed you can select the Scarlett as the input and record it.

Or you could choose it as the input for Skype, Zoom or Google Meet and monitor it through those applications.

Another way you could check: In System Preferences > Sound > Input tab, select the Scarlett and look at the Vu meter.

For both of these solutions, which I have tried, I can SEE the audio but not HEAR it. Still, that is a step forward, but....
