Multichannel Panning Puzzler!

Hi all,

I need some sharp Kyma brains to help me with this puzzle.

Briefly: I'm working on a 15-channel piece. While Kyma only handles up to 8-channels (currently), the piece is goign to be fixed-media, so, "No worries", I thought. "What I'll do is I'll set up a timeline that has the panning information in it", and then record it to disk once with one 8-speaker setup like this:

And then record to disk again like this (with the tracks incremened up by 8):

But, oops. That doesn't work. I ended up with this for a single mono source panned around the circle:

Zoomed in:

Tracks 4, 5, 6, and 11, 12, 13 look great! But, for the others, it looks like Kyma is trying to compensate for the dead spots in the circle, right? So it's stretched out how long those "outer" speakers in each circle play for.

So, please help me out. What would a clever Kyma user do in this situation?

(Not to complicate things, but the performance is actually for a 15-channel linear setup, so my circle solution here was already a jury-rig!)

Would this work for you? (It's hard to get 15 but easy to get 16).

Thanks! Yes. A decent solution, and I can omit the "rear" speaker from what I end up with to help.
