Kyma can't detect Apogee Duet Firewire interface.

Question

Hi, I'm trying to connect an Apogee Duet Firewire to my Paca but it isn't being detecting.  I'm runnng a MacBook Pro 2014 model.  I've tried connecting the Apogee directly to the Paca, but the Apogee doesn't power up.  I've also tried connecting the Apogee to one of my Thunderbolt inputs via a Firewire - Thunderbolt adapter, my Paca is connected to my mac via another Firewire - Thunderbolt adapter.  The Apogee isn't detected in Kyma.

Any suggestions?

The Paca does not supply bus power so the Duet should be plugged into the computer or a FireWire hub (such as the Sonnet Yin Yang). The two Thunderbolt-to-FW800 adapters on your Mac are creating two different FireWire buses, so the Paca and Duet would not be able to find each other.  One solution might be a FireWire hub like the Yin Yang.  You could connect the Duet to the 400 port and the Paca to the 800 port on the Yin Yang and the Yin Yang to the computer.

So did you find a solution? I bought recently a firewire duet fand have the same issue. My mac mini has a thunderbolt and one firewire input (but it doesn't seem that they look at each other). Most firewire accesories seem to be dicontinued nowrdays. Are there any alternatives to the sonnet yin/yang?

Thank for the suggestion but, hmm well the hub is more expensive than the card itself :)
Perhaps I should scavenge the second hand market once more..

The problem is I bought this card for when my impact twin acts up and as a more portable solution and unfortunately the firewire interface market is starting to dry up..

Ok so this was my bad,
I tried it again with a different cable and now it works perfectly fine!
Somehow it couldn't see it before...
I have a pacarana btw.
