iPad network problem while Pacarana connects to laptop via Expansion Port B

Disclaimer: I have been away from Kyma for many months and now my mind is mush.

My Pacarana connects to my laptop via Expansion Port B, and not via Ethernet. (Kyma 7++). Everything is fine there. My problem: I cannot remember how to set up the local network so that the Pacarana shows up on my iPad when running Kyma Control. Its 'Help' comments and my old notes all refer to using the Ethernet connection. Do I use both Ethernet and Expansion Port B? (I don't recall doing that before.) What am I missing. Help!

Hi Brian,

The iPad is typically connected over Wi-Fi. Do you have Delora software's KymaConnect? If so then KymaConnect will use the built-in Wi-Fi of your Mac. Otherwise, you could connect a Wi-Fi hotspot to the Ethernet port on the back of the Pacarana (not expansion port B, but the port labeled Ethernet).

If your computer and Pacarana are both connected (via Ethernet cables) to a local area network that also has Wi-Fi, the Pacarana will show up in Kyma Control if your iPad also connects to that Wi-Fi network.

This was very helpful. While working it all out, I realized that I needed also to upgrade my Kyma Connect software from Delores. I was still using Ver. 1, and I needed Ver. 2. Now installed, we are all connected and iPad is once again happy. THANKS!    - Brian B.
