Pacarana does not show in Kyma Control iPad iOS 14.4

Hello,

I have iPad Air with IPadOS 14.4.

I download the newest Kyma Control app.

I can see the Kyma Control listed  in the local network in privacy settings; and it is enabled.

Both my computer (where Kyma is running) and iPad are on the same WiFi network.

I also make sure my  iOS Settings app is close.

However, Pacarana still does not show in Kyma Control iPad under the hosts.

Any suggestions of how to troubeshoot this?

Thank you so much.

More details about your set up would help:

1. What OS is your computer using?

2. Is your Pacarana connected to the same WI-Fi network, or is it connected to a different network port on your computer?
Mei-ling, could you please describe the connections between your Pacarana and your Mac? Which ports and what cables? Are you using an Ethernet hub with Wi-fi? Or are you relying on the built-in Wi-fi of your Mac?
Thanks!

Hi,

Perhaps you are making the mistake I made: I had not realised that my Paca needed an ethernet cable from my router as I am using Firewire from a Mac to connect the Paca. My Mac also has an ethernet connection.

I believe if your Kyma host Mac is connected to your network by wifi then you can run an ethernet cable from the Mac to the Paca but I've never tried this.

Once I had connected the Paca via ethernet it got an ip address via DHCP (you cannot have a fixed IP) and became visible in Kyma Control, as my ipad was connected via wifi to the same network subnet.

Unfortunately, this does not work. Network traffic on the Wi-Fi network will not appear on the network formed between the computer and the Pacarana when a direct ethernet connection is made. Special software is needed to act as a "network bridge" between the two networks. KymaConnect for macOS includes this as one of its functions. See https://kyma.symbolicsound.com/library/kymaconnect-2-beta/ and https://kyma.symbolicsound.com/library/delora-kymaconnect-2/ for additional info.
