CLASS COMPLIANT USB AUDIO AND MIDI INTERFACES
Most USB audio interfaces use the USB 2.0 protocol irrespective of whether they use a USB-C connector. This means that you can use either the USB-C or USB 2.0 ports on the Pacamara, whichever is most convenient. You can connect 2 (or through a hub, up to 4) USB MIDI input devices to the Pacamara.
After you have connected the interface and have started Kyma, do the following:
- Select Status from the DSP menu to open the DSP Status window.
- If the device has audio input/output, select the device from the Audio Input and Audio Output drop down menus.
- If the device has MIDI input/output, select the device from the MIDI Input and MIDI Output drop down menus.
The Pacamara automatically creates aggregate MIDI input devices for up to four sources of USB MIDI.
Hidden Configuration Options
On some audio interfaces, some options cannot be changed using physical controls and must be changed using a set-up app installed on your computer. To change these options, temporarily disconnect the interface from the Pacamara and connect it to your computer, start the set-up app, make the necessary configuration changes, quit the app, and, finally, reconnect the audio interface to the Pacamara.
