THIRD GENERATION FOCUSRITE SCARLETT USB AUDIO INTERFACES
Focusrite Scarlett third generation audio interfaces are shipped from the factory in “Easy Start mode”, limiting the interface to a 48 kHz maximum sample rate and disabling the MIDI interface.
There are two ways to turn off “Easy Start mode” and enable the full functionality of the Scarlett:
- Follow the instructions in the Scarlett User Guide: connect the interface to your computer, register the interface with Focusrite and install the Focusrite Control app.
- Manually force the Scarlett out of “Easy Start mode”: connect the Scarlett by USB to the Pacamara, power up the Pacamara. Next, turn on the Scarlett using the power switch on the back of the interface while simultaneously pressing and holding the 48V button on the front for five seconds.
Once “Easy Start mode” has been turned off, it will remain off, so the above steps need to be done just once.
Some options on the interface cannot be changed using the front panel controls and must be changed using the Focusrite Control app. To change these options, temporarily disconnect the Scarlett from the Pacamara and connect it to your computer, then start Focusrite Control, make the necessary configuration changes and quit Focusrite Control, and, finally, reconnect the Scarlett to the Pacamara.
